A rich, bitter old man lies in his bed paralyzed, recounting the horror story of his young wife. Melony was beautiful, but lacked the power of speech. She chose to express her hatred of her husband in a manner much more cutting than words.
A young couple is forced to seek refuge in an old house when their care breaks down. The house is inhabited by an elderly woman and her housekeeper. Both of them seem convinced, at times, that the young couple are really the woman's grandson and grandniece—who've been dead for years.
