Expedition Overland is a reality-based web series that follows our crew of overlanders and our outfitted vehicles through some of the most remote places of the world. The desire for exploration and adventure is at the heart of this series. The show features our adventures and mishaps as well as personal insights into our struggles, successes, and experiences. These journeys require teamwork, problem solving, ingenuity, and endurance. We welcome you to follow us as we step into the unknown. We are Expedition Overland.

The XO team pushes for an epic camp spot below a glacier. Heavy vehicles, rivers, and navigation become challenges to the crew. The XO team must make some important decisions!

The overland adventure continues on through one of the best drives in America. The Denali Highway. Some of the crew experiences heli flight for the first time. The team experiences the worst and best campsite of their trip thus far. In a remote part of the Denali Highway this overlanding crew swamps the Land Cruiser! All hands are on deck for this one!

The crew makes a critical decision to make a hard push to the farthest north you can drive in North America: Deadhorse Alaska! They celebrate the 4th of July at the end of the Elliot Highway in Manley hot springs and meet some great “local” characters along the way. The expedition crosses the Arctic Circle and experiences the Dalton Highway first hand – 495 miles of dirt one way! The drive is cinematically documented.

The crew picks up returning expedition members, Ryan Erickson and Ty Heaps, and takes a few days to explore as the expedition goes through a major transition. The guys’ trip is about to begin!

The guys’ trip is underway! They travel the Top of the World Highway from Chicken Alaska to the famous Dawson City Yukon in Canada. Lots of characters are found along the way as well as some history and little trouble. This trip is getting interesting!

A breakdown has stranded the team as they begin the Dempster Highway in the Yukon. The guys must work together and overcome time crunches to maintain schedules. The road is dangerous and close calls are part of the experience. But the top of the world awaits and nothing has prepared them for that!

At the top of the world the crew continues their way back to Inuvik by boat, stopping at a whaling village and engaging in conversation with the locals. After their return they make a hard push down to Hyder, Alaska. Some 39 hours of drive time to the south. Trouble finds them but it turns out to be a tremendous move! In the end, the guys travel from the Arctic Ocean to the edge of the Pacific in just three days. Stopping at the most spectacular location of the trip!

After plunging into British Columbia the crew sets out on their most ambitious adventure yet. The Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail! Almost extinct, the trail proves to be a major logistical challenge. Ty takes a serious injury and the team operates with one man down. Fuel, navigation, breakdowns, and the elements all come into play on this epic final leg.
Season 2 - Expedition Overland

The crew is back together to take on the next portion of the Pan-American Highway in this one hour season premiere of the Central America expedition! The crew prepares everything they’ll need for the trip, including outfitting their all-new Toyota 4Runners for the big journey ahead. 10,000 miles, 10 countries, 1 EPIC adventure!
2015-07-15
The expedition crosses the Mexican border into the legendary Baja Peninsula! The guys meet up with their good friend Ted Moncure of Toyota’s Racing Development and take on part of the Baja 1000 racecourse as they get some pro tips on off road driving in the 4Runners.

The Crew works their way further south into the Baja peninsula. They stop in to meet Ivan “The Ironman” Stewart while some of the guys are feeling a little under the weather before continuing on the adventure. The Southern point of Baja provides a cool place for the guys to get a dive in, but Kurt and Clay are about to have a sketchy situation.

The Baja ferry takes the expedition across the Sea of Cortez to mainland Mexico. A big push is under way to get across Mexico and into the Yucatan Peninsula. Cool people, amazing history, Mayan temples and monkeys! Jeff might even find a wife in this episode.

Expedition Overland makes its first international border crossing into Belize. Here an unfortunate accident brings about a random connection that no one on the crew saw coming.

Expedition Overland joins up with Team 5 to head into the Mayan jungles of Guatemala. They hope to have an impact through combining resources and providing high-level medicine to remote villages in a forgotten area of the world.

Expedition Overland continues the mission with Team 5 as they head back into the Mayan village to perform a life changing surgery on a little girl. The XO gals back in Montana leave for their second year of competition in the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles rally in Morocco, Africa.

Expedition Overland encounters some less than desirable characters in El Salvador and decide to push on through Honduras to get into Nicaragua. The girls competing in the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles race are moving up the ranks as they conquer some very extreme terrain. However, everyone’s luck, in Central America and Africa is about to run out!

The crew barely makes their way through the border into Nicaragua allowing the team to explore the back roads on active volcanoes, while the girls in Morocco face some serious challenges in the final stages of the rally.

The expedition enters the anticipated country of Costa Rica where the guys hope to find some remote trails. They just might have found more than they bargained for!

In the second to last episode, all efforts are made to recover the Tacoma, one of the most complex recoveries in Expedition Overland’s history. The guys push into Panama to attempt reaching the remote, southernmost point of North America.

The FINAL episode of the season brings the team some major geographic and personal challenges. Things get tense as the Darien Gap becomes the focus, and end of the expedition. No one will leave unchanged.
Season 3 - Expedition Overland

Old crews join with the new as Expedition Overland returns to the MacKenzie in an attempt to map on the Hema Explore map, this fading historical trail of Alexander MacKenzie. In this Episode the team returns to the beginning of this notoriously difficult trail, retracing their steps to conquer the trail once and for all.

Day 3 begins with brig questions; and fuel is becoming a greater concern. The Trail is becoming more than they bargained for. For the first time during this expedition, the guys begin to doubt if they will reach the end.
Season 4 - Expedition Overland

After finishing the North and Central American portion, the Expedition Overland Crew begins the next overlanding journey to complete the Pan-American Highway: South America. Join us for an all-new season of adventure, beginning with Colombia! Meet the characters, the overlanding vehicles, and join us as we pick up the trucks and make our way through the beautiful country of Colombia.

The Expedition Overland crew meets up with a guide, winding their way up into the Andes mountains of Colombia! They then drop down into the Tatacoa Desert where they taste the fruits of the region and enjoy time with the locals. The team has fallen in love with Colombia and the people, but it's time to head into Ecuador to continue their overlanding journey through South America!

Crossing their first South America border into Ecuador, the Expedition Overland team is on the hunt for the equator! They make their way up to stand on the active Cotopaxi Volcano (second highest active volcano in the world) and enjoy the moment. They continue on their way, overlanding through Ecuador where a first time police stop has the team on their toes. Ecuador would not be complete without some amazing chocolate and the team continues their South America adventure, crossing into Peru and camping on the beach, with their goal of making their way to the westernmost point of the continent.

The team continues their overlanding journey through Peru, starting in the Cordillera Blanca. After Nate has an "unfortunate" bathroom incident, they roll through large single lane tunnels and admire all of the remains of bootlegging mining operations. Heather's birthday is celebrated and Jeff's health declines during a nighttime run-in that the Expedition Overland team will likely never forget!

After a changeover in a few team members, the Expedition Overland crew joins a local guide in Peru and enjoys a swim with sea lions! After an exhilarating day on the water, the team continues their overlanding adventure to the Paracas Dunes for their next campsite. Dune driving at night proves difficult and the group find themselves doing more dune training and recovery. More altitude sickness hits before the team makes their way to Lake Titicaca!

Route planning tips from Kurt starts the day as the crew gets ready to cross the border from Peru to Bolivia. After an epic (and slightly sketchy) ferry crossing, the team traverses through traffic in La Paz and finds themselves on quite the adventure. They make their way to Bolivia's infamous Death Road (North Yungas Road) and are able to help a local couple make their way home!

The team runs into trouble sourcing fuel in Bolivia before they make their way to the incredible and expansive Salar De Uyuni salt flats. They enjoy meeting and trading patches with a local military group and then spend some time exploring old tombs! This overlanding crew is loving Bolivia!

The team continues their overlanding adventure in Bolivia by visiting a train "graveyard" and learning about the history of the area. As they head south, they make their way through Valle De Rocas and encounter multiple changes in terrain. A late night pulling into camp reveals the beauty of Laguna Colorada in the morning complete with flamingos! They hope to hit their highest elevation point as they make their way to Chile!

The teams first night of camping in Chile finds warmer temps causing good spirits for all! They spend time exploring the diverse landscape of Valley Of The Moon before heading home to allow the worst of the winter to pass the southern countries before they can complete the Pan American Highway. After numerous weeks of post-production at home, a skeleton crew returns to Chile to finish their overlanding adventure through South America!

Heading south on a series of ferries, one that was 5 hours, and continuing on the Carretera Austral (Chile's Route 7) the team travels deeper into Patagonian Andes! They jump at the chance to hop on a boat to take in the truly remarkable marble caves (Cuevas de Mármol).

Crossing into Argentina from Chile, the Expedition Overland crew decides to cross via "no-man's-land," a seven-mile stretch of riverbed with various tributaries. Paperwork trouble keeps the team on their toes as these overlander's take a risk for some adventure. Get your water crossing fix in this episode!

During the South America finale, the team takes in the spectacular Mt. Fitz Roy peak and the Moreno Glacier (Argentina and Chile). After a few vehicle challenges, the Expedition Overland crew gets rolling again to reach the "end of the road," the end of the Pan-American Highway, in Ushuaia, Argentina. A truly celebratory moment! The adventure isn't over yet for these overlanders as it's a long drive back to Buenos Aires to ensure the vehicles are safely shipped back to the United States.
